Fight the Good Fight, Finish the Race and Keep the Faith

Imagine yourself at the end of your life. What sort of legacy will you leave? Describe the lasting effect you want to have on the world, after you’re gone.

While there are many things I could say in response to this prompt, I think I would sum it all up with Paul’s words to young Timothy in 2 Timothy 4. There Paul is exhorting Timothy to continue on in his faith and diligence and commitment to God and his word. Paul is encouraging him not to back down, but to stay true to God and his gospel. Bartering and the Prophet Amos


If the world worked on a barter system, how would you fare? Would you have services to barter? Would you be successful, or would you struggle?

Bartering, while not as prominent as it once was in human history, is still alive and well today.  I have, on more than one occasion, bartered a skill for someone else’s skill.  Basically the dynamic is straightforward.  Person A barters her skill of plumbing, while Person B barters his skill of auto repair.   Read the rest of this entry »
